Simple Istighfar

أَسْتَغْفِرُ اللَّهَ الَّذِي لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا هُوَ الْحَيُّ الْقَيُّومُ وَأَتُوبُ إِلَيْهِ

Astaghfirullahal-ladhi la ilaha illa Huwal-Hayyul-Qayyumu wa atubu ilayh

I seek the forgiveness of Allah, besides whom there is no deity, the Ever-Living, the Sustainer, and I repent to Him.

Whoever says this is forgiven, even if he fled from battle. (Abu Dawud, Tirmidhi)

Dua of Adam & Hawwa

رَبَّنَا ظَلَمْنَا أَنْفُسَنَا وَإِنْ لَمْ تَغْفِرْ لَنَا وَتَرْحَمْنَا لَنَكُونَنَّ مِنَ الْخَاسِرِينَ

Rabbana zalamna anfusana wa in lam taghfir lana wa tarhamna lanakunanna minal-khasirin

Our Lord, we have wronged ourselves, and if You do not forgive us and have mercy upon us, we will surely be among the losers. (7:23)

Forgive All My Sins

اللَّهُمَّ اغْفِرْ لِي ذَنْبِي كُلَّهُ، دِقَّهُ وَجِلَّهُ، وَأَوَّلَهُ وَآخِرَهُ، وَعَلَانِيَتَهُ وَسِرَّهُ

Allahummaghfir li dhanbi kullahu, diqqahu wa jillahu, wa awwalahu wa akhirahu, wa 'alaniyatahu wa sirrahu

O Allah, forgive all of my sins — the small and the great, the first and the last, the public and the private. (Muslim)

I Have Wronged Myself Greatly

اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي ظَلَمْتُ نَفْسِي ظُلْمًا كَثِيرًا، وَلَا يَغْفِرُ الذُّنُوبَ إِلَّا أَنْتَ، فَاغْفِرْ لِي مَغْفِرَةً مِنْ عِنْدِكَ، وَارْحَمْنِي، إِنَّكَ أَنْتَ الْغَفُورُ الرَّحِيمُ

Allahumma inni zalamtu nafsi zulman kathiran, wa la yaghfirudh-dhunuba illa Anta, faghfir li maghfiratan min 'indik, warhamni, innaka Antal-Ghafurur-Rahim

O Allah, I have wronged myself greatly, and none forgives sins except You — so grant me forgiveness from You and have mercy on me. Indeed, You are the Oft-Forgiving, the Most Merciful. (Bukhari & Muslim)

You Are the Accepter of Repentance

اللَّهُمَّ إِنَّكَ عَفُوٌّ تُحِبُّ الْعَفْوَ فَاعْفُ عَنِّي

Allahumma innaka 'afuwwun tuhibbul-'afwa fa'fu 'anni

O Allah, You are Pardoning and You love to pardon — so pardon me. (Tirmidhi)

The dua the Prophet ﷺ taught Aisha for Laylat al-Qadr.

My Lord, Forgive and Accept

رَبِّ اغْفِرْ لِي وَتُبْ عَلَيَّ، إِنَّكَ أَنْتَ التَّوَّابُ الرَّحِيمُ

Rabbighfir li wa tub 'alayya, innaka Antat-Tawwabur-Rahim

My Lord, forgive me and accept my repentance. Indeed, You are the Accepter of Repentance, the Most Merciful.

The Prophet ﷺ said this 100 times in a single sitting. (Abu Dawud, Tirmidhi)

A Pure Heart

اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَسْأَلُكَ قَلْبًا سَلِيمًا، وَلِسَانًا صَادِقًا

Allahumma inni as'aluka qalban salima, wa lisanan sadiqa

O Allah, I ask You for a sound heart and a truthful tongue.

Repentance heals the heart — a sound heart strengthens you against waswas and spiritual illness.
